Data Envelopment Analysis Approach to Energy-Saving Projects Selection in an Energy Service Company

Project selection is a common problem for many companies. Specifically, it consists in identifying which projects should be selected with regard to their economic efficiency, i.e., the that maximise profit they bring while minimising cost of resources consumed. In this paper, we have focused our interest on energy service companies because importance convenient projects. these types companies, attractiveness project depends both estimations obtained simulations systems improved, as well probability will awarded (e.g., local government bids, where typically several compete win bid). We propose new method, especially tailored and based centralised data envelopment analysis models limited availability resources. This contrasts all existing methods allows proposed approach make more efficient use applied model real-world case by selecting Spanish company, showing benefits applying approach, comparing results other approaches.
